Charming Lucky Bites

Lucky Charms cereal treats with flavored marshmallows

When my kids were growing up, we had the good, sugary, kid cereals in the cupboard, including Lucky Charms cereal. And we always had bags of regular and fruity flavored marshmallows and plenty of butter close by. So it was normal for me to turn most any kind of cereal into a bar. These worked well for St. Patrick’s Day treats.

When my kids finished their hockey season one weekend, we brought these to the girls’ team pizza party. The container was almost empty when we left so they must have been good. (Never mind that I shared them with my family first while we watched the hockey game.)

What’s one of your kids’ favorite cereals to make into special treats? What other flavors of marshmallows have you used to make a twist on the traditional rice crispy treats?

Boy, do these marshmallow treats take me back to my childhood. My grandma Janet would treat us with fruity flavored marshmallows. I loved sweet cereal like Lucky Charms but we never got to have it at home.
